Bio
Mary grew up in the Chicago area and was a product of the wonderful free music lessons and orchestra ensembles offered through the District 89 schools. With a degree in performance from the University of Illinois and 12 years of experience as a professional symphony cellist with the New Mexico Symphony (Albuquerque), Her primary joy is working to bring the magic of music-making to new players.
Along with a deep love of classical music, she enjoys “ethnic” music, Celtic, classical guitar, and a smattering of virtually everything else, including jazz, bluegrass, and movie scores. Her tastes are wide-ranging, and she used to perform with a “jazz-fusion” original music group
A new-found excitement in music arranging has enabled Mary to arrange numerous pieces for ensembles for student. Tunes from movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and themes from video games and films are frequentlyan option.
Cello Recitals
I require a 24-hour notice for makeup lessons. Students who fail to comply with this requirement will result in the forfeiture of the missed classes.
Makeup lessons may be online and arranged for a mutually acceptable time and day. Contact me for more details.
